PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

NOTE: Doors open 30 minutes before concert start time. Please arrive early so we can start on time!

Performers:

David Falcone

David Falcone is a phenomenal guitarist, influenced by and on par with Leo Kotke and Pierre Bensusan in fingerpicking precision and polish. His highly regarded recordings have received rave reviews. He writes instrumentals as well as compelling lyrics, and can a sing a lick too! His original compositions reflect a unique synthesis of Celtic, traditional, and classical sounds and forms. Falcone performs regularly in the Delaware Valley and can be heard on WXPN and WDVR. He teaches psychology at La Salle University.

Aaron Nathans

Aaron Nathans's mission is to write songs about things no one else has written about before. Like a song about male bonding between a guy and his barber. Or the onslaught of the outside world upon a new parent. Surely somebody's written that song, right? Ok, find it.
Aaron, who lives in the Philadelphia area, describes his songs as wild-mind, bittersweet acoustic music. His shows include humorous, meandering stories that will keep you every bit as captivated as the music itself -- beautiful guitar work, catchy melodies, and his sweet baritone voice and eye-popping vocal range.
Aaron's songwriting was honored by the Kerrville Folk Festival, which named him a New Folk Finalist in 2018 and 2011. He was a winner of the South Florida Folk Festival songwriting contest in 2020. His new album with Michael G. Ronstadt, "Shadow of the Cyclone," drops on Oct. 1.

Debbie Scott

Debbie Scott is a songwriter from New Jersey whose crafty originals evoke the vocal-driven Jazz Standard style of the 1940's with a quirky modern sensibility. With influences ranging from Ella Fitzgerald, Hank Williams, Dan Hicks, and Erin McKeown, it's hard to tell what decade some of her songs are written in, but all have given impetus to Debbie's meteoric rise to obscurity.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
