PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

Sorry, there is no house concert currently scheduled for 2010-06-19.

Performers:

Michelle Miller

Michelle Miller is a singer/songwriter who has appeared all over the Philadelphia area. She has performed at venues such as the Mercer Museum Folkfest, Ambler Octoberfest, Please Touch Museum, The Keswick Theater, and schools, colleges, and libraries. Her music is a little country, a little pop, and she loves creating beautiful harmonies on her recordings. During the daytime, Michelle is a children's librarian and presents story times five days a week. She also has created a children's radio show called Miss Michelle's Story Time airing on montcoradio.com every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. which incorporates her favorite stories, her original songs, and popular children's music.

Wes Powers

Wes Powers plays piano, guitar, dulcimer, and a little banjo (unless he's bribed not to!). His lyric-driven songs cover a variety of subjects and moods. He is known for his humorous and oddly light-hearted songs, but also writes heartfelt emotional ones. His songs deal with unique subjects, ranging from quirks of language to geography lessons to malfunctioning spaceships. He can make you laugh with one song and cry with the next.

A five-time People's Choice winner, Wes has appeared on many stages around the Philadelphia area, as well as New York and West Virginia. He is based in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Nathan Surles

Nathan Surles comes from Wilmington, Delaware. His guitar style blends a unique classical and folk derived fingerpicking with some percussive strumming. Vocally, he blends dark soft tones to match the guitar. The songs he writes are stories of contemplation, mantras, and invocations. Before moving to the Philadelphia region he spent time in the singer/songwriter circles of Kentucky and the college scenes of Virginia.
You: The fourth performer can be YOU! The first eight (or so) performers to sign up at the show will sing one original song as part of the concert. This is an extra special OPEN STAGE SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY, so bring along any instruments you'll want to play. The first people to arrive get to sign up first. The open stage slots often fill up, so come early to get a slot.
