PASA House Concert Series

One of the longest running house concert series in the Philadelphia Area, for more than 20 years, PASA has presented its members in a true house concert setting. Since its creation by Rob Lincoln in 2000, more than 150 different performers have performed as a co-headliner.

Each concert features three PASA members as co-headliners, plus 8 to 12 "Open Chair" performers. Anyone who wants to play an original song can be an Open Chair performer. These shows are in round robin format, one song at a time and the Open Chair slots not only begin the show but also occur at the end of every round. There are usually seven rounds with an intermission in the middle.

NOTE: Doors open 30 minutes before concert start time. Please arrive early so we can start on time!

Rob Lincoln

"Typical" or "predictable" are two words that do not describe Rob Lincoln. Whether it's "Alferd Packer", "Cat Got My Tongue Won't Give It Back", "Hrumph", "Purple Shoes", "Two Darrens", or his lesser-known "I Saw Horses Kneeling In Prayer To Mr. Ed", Rob as a solo artist has become best known for his original off-beat songs. But there are many other sides to the man who has written over 500 songs. Historic ballads, impressionistic poeticism, surrealistic imagery, grungy garage rock, fingerpicking folk, social commentary, and really catchy non-generic pop tunes are all part of his vast original reportoire which he delivers with high energy and humor. In 2014, Rob released the longest debut album in music history -- 300 original songs plus 42 bonus tracks, complete with chords and lyrics. A member of PASA since the early days, Rob founded the PASA houseconcert series and the Summer Songfest and is the person to contact for PASA houseconcert bookings. And did we mention he's also a violinist that has appeared on a number of PASA members' CDs?

Janet Sclaroff

"I am my dreams!" This sums up the spirit of Janet Sclaroff. Janet is a music and movement teacher who has extended her audience from the classroom to the stage. With guitar in hand, she writes upbeat, rhythmic music that gets everyone singing, clapping, and dancing. Some of her songs are written for kids, but according to Janet's grownup fans, her music is wonderful for all ages. She is active in the Children's Music Network, Children's Entertainment Association, and NARAS, as well as being one of PASA's most frequent and genial hosts. Janet is filled with enthusiasm and idealism, and she transmits this to her audience.
